20+ years building software, mostly as a founder or CTO.
2+ years running AI features in production with real users.
Big and small: startups I co-founded, plus the American Red Cross, Aetna, and Bloomberg.
What I do
BLDX is an AI early-warning and continuous underwriting platform for buildings and construction projects. In plain terms, it reads the records a project produces, such as inspections, maintenance tickets, permits, contracts, and compliance documents, and flags risk before it turns into an insurance claim. People can also ask questions about those records in plain English.
- I set the technical direction from the company's founding and lead a small engineering team.
- Our AI features have been in production with real users for more than two years.
- I build with several AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, and Mistral) using LangChain and the Vercel AI SDK, so we can use the right model for each job.
- I measure AI quality with benchmarks, user feedback, and LangSmith, a tool for tracking and testing how AI performs.
- I work directly with insurance, facility management, compliance, and construction experts to turn how they work and what they know into AI workflows.
What it means for you
I've done the hard part already: taking AI past the demo and into daily use by real people, then keeping it accurate. I know how to sit with experts who aren't technical, learn their work, and build something they trust.
What I do
Alongside my startup work, I've advised organizations on their technology, architecture, and engineering practice, and recommended practical build plans that fit small teams.
What it means for you
"Fits a small team" is the whole point. I'm used to recommending what a business can actually run and maintain, not the biggest possible system.
What I did
I built the Red Cross's online donation forms. Every online donation made on the site ran through code I wrote. I also built a living style guide, a shared library of page components that product owners used to test options and pick what went into each new donation campaign. I worked closely with product managers and senior leadership to keep improving the donation experience.
What it means for you
I've built software that a large, mission-driven organization relied on for something that really mattered. And I built it so non-technical people could make their own choices without waiting on a developer. That's the same goal I have for the AI tools I set up for you.
What I did
I led engineering on secure data systems for life sciences and healthcare, working with industry stakeholders so the systems met their standards and data-handling requirements.
What it means for you
When your business handles sensitive information, security and privacy aren't add-ons. I've designed for them from the start.
What I did
I led teams building systems for real-money gaming, including mobile apps and the systems behind them. I'm the inventor on US Patent 10,373,426, "System and Method for Provably Fair Gaming," granted in 2019.
What it means for you
I've built systems where accuracy and trust weren't optional, and invented something new enough to patent.
What I did
Platform architecture for iTriage, a consumer health product inside a major healthcare company.
What it means for you
I know how to work inside a large, regulated organization, with its processes, reviews, and stakeholders, and still ship.
What I did
I worked on processing and indexing large data sets and improving system performance.
What it means for you
A lot of AI work is really data work: getting information organized and findable. I've done that with large data sets at Bloomberg.
What I did
Built the product from scratch and automated how it was deployed.
What it means for you
I can take an idea from a blank page to something running, without a big team.

Why this matters for you: Writing a book and running a meetup are teaching jobs. Training your team is the same skill: take something technical and make it make sense.
